6061 is alloyed with 1.0% magnesium and 0.6% silicon. It has a tensile strength range of 20 to 42 kSI. It offers good formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. It is used in engineering and structural applications, including marine, furniture, transportation equipment, and other applications. It meets AMS QQ-A-250/11 and ASTM B209.
