2024

2024 is alloyed with 4.5% copper. It has a tensile strength range of 30 to 63 kSI. It exhibits moderate workability and corrosion resistance, with limited forming operations. It is used in high-strength structural applications and in the aircraft industry. It is also available in an Alclad version for improved corrosion resistance. 2024 meets AMS QQ-A-250/4, and the Alclad version meets AMS QQ-A-250/5 and ASTM B209.
